On 3rd July, 2023,  Tzu Chi Nepal officially registered as an international NGO and established its presence in Nepal. The organization collaborates closely with the local government and partners to deliver resources from around the world to the neediest in the society.

According to the United Nations definition, Nepal is one of the nine "Least Developed Countries" in Asia, with a per capita gross national income below US$1,035. The population generally faces poverty, with 80% engaged in agriculture. Educational levels are low, and there is limited emphasis on the education of the next generation.

Despite this, the people of Nepal are known for their simplicity, kindness, and willingness to help others. Therefore, Tzu Chi hopes to promote tangible missions, employing a multifaceted approach to assist vulnerable groups. The goal is to guide them towards self-reliance and self-empowerment while fostering intangible values of great love and gratitude between individuals.
