Volunteers in Bodh Gaya, India conduct charity home visits every month. They bring books and Jing Si Aphorisms to teach children some daily life vocabulary.

Saree is a representative female clothing in India. Saraswati Devi was a student in the first batch of Tzu Chi Vocational Training Sewing Class in Bodh Gaya. She wished to open a Saree shop and her dream had been achieved after graduation. She and her husband had been saving money and now they have a new goal. They wanted to build a sewing classroom on the land behind to inherit skills and give back to society.

Tzu Chi Bodh Gaya Liaison Office in India hosted a warm and heartfelt gathering of Tzu Chi Teachers Association, bringing together 26 principals and teachers from various schools to exchange teaching experiences and share insights with one another.

With the widespread use of the internet, the concept of gender equality has become increasingly well understood and accepted. In India, for example, while traditional preferences for sons over daughters still exist, they are no longer as severe as in the past. However, the patriarchal system remains deeply rooted in society. Tzu Chi volunteers had been working in the region for many years. In Bodh Gaya, they launched a knitting program to help women acquire practical skills, with the hope that they can become more self-reliant and empowered to improve their lives.

Tzu Chi volunteers organized a mobile phone photography training course at Lumbini Tzu Chi Centre to allow its Sewing Class teachers and senior staff understand the functions of mobile phones and learn how to take good photos and videos to record touching moments.

Tzu Chi signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Lumbini Municipal Government of Nepal to improve the living environment of underprivileged villagers. The first household is already under construction. The Deputy Mayor of Lumbini visited the construction site to view the progress of the brick house’s project.

The construction of Tzu Chi Campus in Lumbini will begin in mid-April. Deputy CEO of Taiwan Tzu Chi Foundation, Lin Jingxian personally visited the construction site for inspection and carefully understood every detail. The Deputy CEO, Lin Jingxian particular praised the use of 1.2-metre-high pillars in the project, which will protect the Buddha’s hometown and stand tall for a thousand years.
